
Meghan Harper, Ph.D.
Biography
Meghan Harper, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of the School of Information. In addition, she has been serving as the school library media concentration coordinator since joining the iSchool faculty in 2001, and is the MLIS graduate coordinator. Since 2003, Harper has served as an advisory board member of the Virginia Hamilton Multicultural Literature Conference, the longest running national conference of its kind. She served as co-director from 2012-2022 for the Conference. She is a member of several International Associations, and serves on the Reading and Literacy committee of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) and the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL). Nationally, she is active in the American Library Association (ALA), and its divisions, the American Association of School Librarians, (AASL), Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and Young Adult Library Services Association, (YALSA). She also serves on multiple national and state committees, including the Buckeye Children’s and Teens Book Award. Her interest in assessment and accreditation has led to her professional service for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) an
