Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's College of Aeronautics and Engineering captured images of the blimp parade last week in the skies over the ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Airport and downtown Akron.

Goodyear brought together their three airships for "victory laps" over Ohio to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their iconic blimp, officially observed on June 3. That date marks 100 years since the inaugural flight of Goodyear's first branded blimp "Pilgrim", which got its name during a christening at the ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Airport in 1925.

Three ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø alumni are current blimp pilots for Goodyear and other ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø alumni serve on the support crew for these aircraft.
