Biography
I have been a registered nurse for the past 35 years. I graduated with a diploma from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1985, graduated from YSU with my BSN in 2003 and graduated with my MSN from YSU in 2006. I am a certified Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and I graduated with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from KSU in 2018.
For over 30 years, I have worked as a nurse in critical care, cardiac care, cardiothoracic intensive care, trauma, endoscopy, emergency nursing care and as an educator for emergency medicine. I have been teaching at Kent since 2006 and have taught a variety of courses. As a faculty member of the College of Nursing at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø, Trumbull Campus, I have been a mentor and preceptor for many advanced practice nursing students and a honors advisor to a number of BSN students.
I have been a member of the Ohio and American Nurses Association for the past 34 years. I am currently on the Board of Directors at ONA and I am the second vice president of District Three, ONA. I love teaching students about critical care nursing, health policy and professional nursing development. My favorite part of being a nurse and a teacher is making a difference in the lives of others, both patients and students.
