Ohio Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel recently toured ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering, seeing firsthand how the university is educating students for critically needed jobs in the aviation and engineering fields.

After serving as chief technologist and director of the Office of Technology Incubation and Innovation at NASA Glenn Research Center, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø College of Aeronautics and Engineering Professor John Sankovic brings unmatched real-world perspective into the classroom. 

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering has received more than $550,000 in funding through two major grants that further position the college at the forefront of advanced air mobility (AAM) research and workforce development.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s High-Power Rocket Team successfully launched the largest and most advanced rocket in its history on March 9, reaching an apogee of 11,517 feet and a top speed of 0.99 Mach—just shy of the speed of sound.

As the iconic Goodyear Blimp marks its 100th anniversary, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s connection to aviation history is soaring to new heights. Three alumni of the university’s aeronautics program are among the aviators steering this American icon through its centennial celebration.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s Flight Team secured a ninth-place overall finish at the 2025 National SAFECON competition, held March 23 and hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's College of Aeronautics and Engineering extends its congratulations to the exceptional students who have been named to the President's List and Dean's List for the Spring 2025 semester.

What began as a senior capstone project for aerospace engineering students at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø has grown into a full-fledged student organization preparing to take flight in a national competition.
