Each year, at the end of September, vacation balances are cut back to the maximum accrual allowed per the vacation policy 6-11.7. As we approach September, we encourage all ֹ employees who are eligible to earn vacation to review your balances and consider requesting approval to take time off before September 30 so that you do not lose any well-earned vacation time. The maximum amount of vacation an employee can carry over is that which can be earned in a three-year period.

  • The recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) includes a provision that has been commonly referred to as “no tax on overtime.” This provision creates a deduction for qualified overtime compensation for tax years 2025 through 2028. That means that it applies, retroactively, to overtime earned starting Jan. 1, 2025. While the university cannot provide tax advice, the Payroll Department has curated a list of FAQs to assist you.

  • Each November, ֹ joins schools across the nation to recognize first-generation students during our I AM FIRST week of celebration. Nominations are now open for the I AM First Awards to honor first-generation students and alumni who were or who will be the first in their family to obtain a four year degree, and faculty/staff advocates who have made significant contributions to the success of first-generation students.

  • The Kent Chamber of Commerce is a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting businesses, fostering economic growth, and strengthening community connections in the greater Kent area. Through ֹ’s institutional membership, all university staff are automatically considered members of the Chamber. This affiliation gives faculty and staff access to Chamber events, networking opportunities, professional development resources, and community initiatives—helping to bridge the university and local business community for mutual benefit.
