The state of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Higher Education announced that ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø has been awarded Choose Ohio First grants totaling $3.5 million to support students in the critical fields of science (including health professions), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Jonathan V. Selinger, professor and Ohio Eminent Scholar in ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s Department of Physics, in the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute, has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal Science.

New Funding Leads to New Full-Body Virtual Reality Lab
Two ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø sociology researchers are moving toward gaining insight into how people’s brains react in a variety of threatening situations using innovative virtual reality (VR) technology funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Army. Josh Pollock and William Kalkhoff, both in the Department of Sociology & Criminology, are leading the research projects, which will benefit the Army, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø students and others.

Materials Science Research Receives Grant for New X-ray Scattering Instrument
