When business administration major Deneen Penn started her college career at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø at Trumbull, she had no plans to become Miss Ohio USA 2018 or to launch her own honey business. By her senior year, however, she had accomplished both.

Walls Community Garden Lauded as Outstanding New Service Initiative
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s Community Engaged Learning Initiative selected the Walls Community Garden for its Outstanding New Service Initiative award. The garden was selected for the award for understanding the needs of the community and making a positive impact on ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø, Walls Elementary School, where the garden is located, and the city of Kent.

Student Hero Pulls Driver From Wind-Blown Semi
Jacob Thompson, a ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø sophomore aeronautics and engineering major, was braving the harsh February winds during his regular commute back to the Kent Campus from his Coast Guard drill training in Port Clinton, Ohio, when tragedy struck a semi and Mr. Thompson sprang into action.

Kristen Brett, a fourth year student in ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's College of Podiatric Medicine, has been elected president of the American Podiatric Medical Students' Association (APMSA).

Sydney Bihn is on track to be the first female graduate of ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s aerospace engineering program, and now, she has been selected as one of only 38 women to be a Brooke Owens Fellow.

Many people travel for relaxation, some travel for work, but Erica Dovin traveled to help give the gift of hearing to impaired children. Ms. Dovin, a sophomore speech pathology and audiology major, received a rare opportunity to travel to Honduras to provide much needed assistance while gaining valuable experience at the same time.

When Symone Baskerville came from Chicago to ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø to study fashion design, she realized that living so far from home was not nearly as difficult a transition as living in an area with limited choices of fabrics available for to her to use for her class projects. So she changed that by opening Kent Fabrics.
