Beverly Guy-Sheftall Keynotes Women’s History Month
To celebrate Women’s History Month and to honor Black History Month, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, in collaboration with Black United Students and the Department of Africana Studies, invites you to attend a virtual conversation Thursday, March 17, with Beverly Guy-Sheftall esteemed author, founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center and Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies at Spelman College.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Receives Military Friendly School Honor for 13th Year in a Row
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø continues to exemplify leadership in its mission to support students as the Kent Campus is designated as a Military Friendly® School for the 13th consecutive year in a row, earning a Gold award. In addition, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø at Trumbull earned a Silver award.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s Regional Campuses.

Leadership Update
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø President Todd Diacon updated the university community on recent actions regarding the appointment of Sean Broghammer, Ph.D., as ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s new vice president for enrollment management.

Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and Marlene M. Wicherski Pledge $2 Million to Support Brain Health Research at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø alumnus Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and his wife, Marlene M. Wicherski, have pledged $2 million to support research programs and students in ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s Brain Health Research Institute. The Brain Health Research Institute is a recently established, cross-disciplinary institute that focuses on research and education of brain health across the lifespan.

PNC Foundation Awards $75,000 to ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø
The PNC Foundation has awarded $75,000 to ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø to help ensure success among students who commonly face barriers in college. This grant aligns with PNC’s focus on addressing economic inequality among Black American and low- to moderate-income communities, and it will provide resources for students that will help them complete college and establish a strong foundation on which to build their careers.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Wins Award for Excellence in Integrating International Education Throughout University
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø and Cleveland State Partner to Shorten Time Students Need for Bachelor’s, Law Degrees
¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø has established a new partnership with Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law to offer students two pathways to obtain a bachelor’s degree from ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø and a law degree from CSU in six years. The new 3+3 program will shorten the length of time typically needed to complete both degrees.

U.S. News & World Report has named three ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø programs as U.S. News Best Online Programs for 2022. ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø is recognized in the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, Best Online Graduate Education Programs and Best Online MBA Programs rankings.
